Excitement radiated the atmosphere at Flomaton Speedway Saturday night from the drop of the first green flag to the wave of the final checkered flag as the speedway hosted its first Fall Challenge.
Speedway promoter NASCAR Ron said there was a good turnout for the event and felt the fans were pleased.
Tracy Sutton picked up another win in the late model series holding off Stephen Brantley for the top spot. Sutton has continuously finished inside the Top 5 the last month and has been a man on fire at Flomaton Speedway.
Points leader Josh Huss finished in third place behind Brantley, while Ricky Haugen took home a fourth place finish. Kevin Maher rounded out the Top 5.
Jeff Cooper ended the night in the sixth spot, with John Wright finishing behind him in seventh.
Gary Maher finished in eighth, Mike McGee took home ninth and Micha McCall closed out the Top 10.
Ricky Haugen proved to be a competitor in the street stock class and picked up a victory beating out Bobby Resmondo.
Resmondo held off a pair of Woods as Terry Woods finished in third and James Woods took home fourth. Adam Purvis finished out the Top 5.
Wayne Dilling left the speedway with a sixth place run, and Adam Ellison finished in seventh place.
John Jackson took home eighth, Andy Penton finished in ninth and Huck Gibson picked up a 10th place finish.
Jamie Young took home the top prize in the bomber class holding off several competitors including Pebo Windham, who finished third and Kyle Kirkland, who ended the race in fourth.
Joey Chiles finished in fifth place, with Al Hardy finishing right behind him in the sixth spot.
NASCAR Ron said that Chiles and Hardy had a bad wreck on the front stretch.
Levi Wales grabbed the seventh spot, Scooter Willis drove his way to eighth and Justin Adams finished in ninth. Eddie Hammonds closed out the Top 10.
Jimmy Boyington picked up another victory in the stinger class and held off Corey Gauge who picked up the second spot.
Brian McCreary finished in third place, while Angela Hayes ended the night in fourth place. Wayne Dilling rounded out the Top 5.
Ronald Ross drove his car hard to a sixth place finish. Geoffrey Adkins ended the race in seventh.
Robert Tarrant finished in eighth, Ronnie Barlow passed the checkers in ninth and Aaron Kiaunis ended the Top 10.
Jeff Spann won the rarely raced hobby cars class. Tim McCurdy finished in the runner-up position, with Daniel Higdon finishing behind him in third.
Wallace Allen ended the race in fourth place, and Donnie Reed finished in fifth.
Rusty Salter finished in sixth, Ricky Rutherford came in behind Salter in seventh and Danny Heaton closed out the order in eighth.
NASCAR Ron said he expects more racers to visit Flomaton Speedway now because they are one of the only tracks still racing heading into the month of November. He added that for the Fall Challenge there were several drivers from Mississippi present.
Flomaton Speedway will return to action on Nov. 7.
