Basketball registration at the Atmore Area YMCA begin Dec. 1 and run throughout the month leading up to the start of the season in January.
Atmore YMCA executive director Tammy Graham said the season begins once the holidays have passed.
The cost to register is the same with basketball as it is with other sports. Member registration fees are $35, while nonmembers must pay $55.
There are four age groups that include, ages six to eight, nine to 12, 13-15 and 16 and up. Age groups for six-to-eight-year-olds and nine-to-12-year-olds are co-ed leagues, with the 13-15-year-olds splitting into separate boys and girls leagues.
Graham said other than breaking up the boys and girls in the older age groups the only change is who and where the teams will play.
