The Atmore Country Club is taking steps to improve its golf course for members and visiting golfers if the weather gets below par, while they are enjoying a day on the course.
A new weather shed is being added behind the green on hole No. 5, and another shed is in the plans to be added behind the green at hole No. 1
Country Club superintendent Rodney Stewart said the sheds are being added to help house golfers in case of rain or harsh weather.
The sheds are being built to replace the old sheds that were destroyed during a previous storm.
Stewart said the first shed should be up in the coming weeks with the other shed to follow right behind it.
Other maintenance being completed around the course is keeping up certain aspects to improve playing for golfers.
The greens, tees and sand traps are having work done to them to make the game more enjoyable and possibly easier.
Stewart said the sand traps are getting filled with new sand and the tees and greens are getting treated.
The Country Club is also still excited over their golf carts that they received last summer.
Stewart said the carts have done a great job and there have not been any complaints or malfunctions.
