DAVISVILLE, Fla. - Mr. Leon Smith, 86, of Davisville, Fla. died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at a local nursing home.
Mr. Smith was a native of Red Level but had been a resident of Davisville for the past 31 years and he was a member of the Bratt First Baptist Church, a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, retired machinist at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla. and was a bee keeper.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mrs. Nita Smith of Davisville; four sons, Paul Howard Smith of Canoe, Casey Leon Smith of Davisville, Samuel Smith of Davisville and Lloyd Baker of Stockton; two daughters, Marie Moss of Davisville, Fla., and Sally Carrie of Metarie, La.; a brother, J.W. “Billy” Smith of Davisville; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at the Godwin cemetery in Bratt, Fla. with the Rev. Marcus Caraway officiating. Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directed.
