Riding a wave of momentum, the Escambia County Blue Devils traveled to Vigor High School on Wednesday and torched the Wolves 11-4 for a third straight victory over their Region opponent.
The Blue Devils (9-13, 3-3) picked up the victory after crushing Vigor twice last weekend at home.
Blue Devils head coach David Hill said the victory helps put the Blue Devils in a fight for second place in the region.
Escambia County started the game strong picking up five runs in the first inning and cruised the rest of the game.
Vigor, which had not scored a run in its previous three games broke their run-less streak in the first inning and managed to add three more in the fourth and fifth innings, but ECHS continued to pour in runs scoring with two runs in the third ,one in the fifth and three in the seventh.
The Blue Devils were led by Nick Flowers and Marshall Rolin who each had stellar days at the plate. Flowers stepped up to the plate and hit 3-for-3 in the rout, while Rolin was 4-for-5.
Haden McGill hit 2-for-5 in the game with Eric Coley equaling that with his own 2-for-5 performance.
Hill said the offensive production for the Blue Devils was strong with every Blue Devil getting a hit.
Nico Johnson was 2-for-3, Maurice White hit 1-for-3 and T.C. Brown went 1-for-4 in the Blue Devils victory.
Cody Brown and Ryan Linam rounded out the hitting for ECHS going a combined 2-for-9.
Justin Stabler picked up the win for the Blue Devils. He pitched a complete game giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks. He sent six Wolves down on strikes.

Starting pitcher Marshall Rolin pitched a two-hitter and did not give up any runs as the Blue Devils of Escambia County shut out the Vigor Wolves 10-0 in the second game of a doubleheader last weekend at Tom Byrne Park.
The Blue Devils (8-13, 2-3) shutout the Wolves for the second straight game after winning the first game of the series 8-0.
Escambia County head coach David Hill said putting up 10 runs was the offensive output he wanted to see from his team.
The Blue Devils consistently scored throughout the rout with runs being scored in the first, third, fourth and sixth innings.
Senior Eric Coley was a catalyst for the offense and proved why he is the captain of the squad. Coley hit 2-for-4 at the plate, and he provided a two-run home run to give the Blue Devils a boost in the batter’s box.
Hill said Coley found his pitch and made it count.
Rolin, who pitched a complete game, not only performed well on the mound but at the plate as well. Rolin hit 3-for-3 in the win, while also striking out six Wolves.
Nico Johnson contributed to the offensive production hitting 2-for-3 in the Blue Devils win.
Other Blue Devils to record hits included Maurice White (1-for-2), Michael Thomas (1-for-3) and Nick Flowers (1-for-3).

Nick Flowers had perfect game at the plate (3-for-3) to help lead the Escambia County Blue Devils to an 8-0 shutout of the Vigor Wolves in the first game of a doubleheader at Tom Byrne Park.
The Blue Devils (7-13, 1-3) opened their series with Vigor and recorded their first region win of the season.
Escambia County head coach David Hill said the region win was a step in the right direction for his team.
On the mound, Haden McGill threw a complete game giving up only two hits to Wolves batters. He also stuck out five batters en route to the win. McGill’s performance at the plate was nearly as good as his pitching going 2-for-3 in the game.
Eric Coley and Nico Johnson rounded out the Blue Devils hits in the game with both players hitting 2-for-3.
