The Escambia County High School Graduation has been moved to the school's auditorium due to the weather.
ECHS principal Harvey Means said the only people allowed in the auditorium will be those with tickets to the graduation.
For those who do not have tickets, they will be able to view and hear the graduation in the new gymnasium courtesy of video projection.
The school also announced today that U.S. Congressman Jo Bonner will be able to deliver the commencement speech at its Class of 2009 graduation ceremony tonight.
Some doubt remained as to whether Bonner would be able to make the event because of a busy schedule voting in Washington, D.C. Then, yesterday, the House announced it would finish voting last night, giving the Congressman time to travel to Atmore for the ceremony.
"We really appreciate the Congressman making this event a priority," graduating senior Tray Smith, who served as a Page for Bonner his junior year, said. "And to come here on a Friday night after having been in Washington for the entire week really means a lot."
Graduation starts at 7 p.m.
