Atmore squeaks by PCI

Keon McCants of Atmore Utilities Board and Casey Jackson of PCI-Gold led their teams with one hit apiece as their teams battled to a 3-3 tie in a match up of Babe Ruth League teams on Thursday at Tom Byrne Park.
McCants finished the game 1-for-3 with a single and one run scored, while Jackson hit 1-for-1 for PCI with a double and an RBI.
PCI-Gold started the game strong scoring all three of their runs in the first inning as Kyler McGlotherm, Jackson and Rickey Reed all made it around the base path.
Atmore put their first run on the board in the fifth inning as McCants ripped a single to get on base. He was knocked in by Hunter Dettling’s single to cut the deficit to two runs.
In the sixth inning, Atmore added two more runs with Brett Helton and Terrance Marshall each scoring runs to tie the game.

PCI-Gold 4
Greenlawn Home Health crushed PCI-Gold 14-4 in Babe Ruth League action at Tom Byrne Park last Tuesday.
PCI-Gold started the scoring in the first inning as Baccari Ramer and Kyler McGlotherm both made it around the bases to score.
Greenlawn jumped back into the game in the second inning tying the game at two with Logan Smith and Shelly Carter crossing the plate.
Greenlawn took the lead in the third inning as Coty Merchant scored to give his team the lead 3-2.
In the fourth inning Greenlawn added to their lead as Merchant, Cater, Demetric and Dandra all scored to extend the lead 7-2.
PCI added one run in the fourth with Josh Peebles making around the base path.
Greenlawn added three more runs to the scoreboard in the fifth inning as Carter, Demetric and Dandra scored again.
PCI scored their final run in the fifth with Ricky Reid scoring his only run of the game.
In the final inning, Bo Bishop, Logan Smith, Carter and Dandra all scored to give Greenlawn a 10-run victory.
