George was a native of Pensacola, Fla., a former resident of Pineview, a resident of Atmore for the past 41 years and attended the Baptist Church.
His son, George Washington Roberson III preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ruth Roberson of Okeechobee, Fla.; three sons, Buddy Lee Roberson, Samuel Thomas Roberson and Mitchel Roberson, all of Atmore; three daughters, Renita Ann Henderson of Flomaton; Sheila Elaine Van Ree of Atmore and Georgie Annie Roberson of Red Level; 17 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Gillard Roberson of Gulf Shores and sister, Shirley Connel of Gulf Shores.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Adam Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today, Aug. 1, 2009 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Samuel Roberson, Mitchel Roberson, Buddy Roberson, David Van Ree, Tim Van Ree and James Henderson.
Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
