Four people were transferred to Atmore Community Hospital Wednesday afternoon following a two-car collision on Hwy. 21 south.
According to witnesses at the scene, the driver of a Ford Taurus LX rear-ended a silver four-door Mercury occupied by three people at approximately 5:20 p.m.
The accident, which occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 21 and Oak Hill Avenue, backed up traffic in both the northbound and southbound lanes for several minutes while rescue personnel loaded the injured passengers into ambulances. The condition of those injured was unavailable.
