ATMORE - Donald Franklin Schell Jr. 52, of Atmore died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 in Mobile.
He was an off shore man, born in Atmore on April 12, 1957 to Donald Franklin Schell Sr. and Nelda Grace Brown.
His father, Donald F. Schell Sr.; a brother, James Patrick Schell; maternal grandparents, Carl Hubert Brown Sr. and Artie Missie McIntyre Brown; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Schell; aunt, Betty Joyce Brown and an uncle, Carl Hubert Brown Jr. preceded him in death.
Survivors are his mother, Nelda Brown of Atmore; three sisters, Angelia Grace Schell of Saginaw, Mich., Nelda Denise Quintanilla of Austin, Texas and Valerie Nicole George of San Francisco, Calif.; one nephew, Aidan Carlin Edmondson; two aunts, Helen B. Ross and Hazel B. Hall, both of Atmore and many loving cousins.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Diane Everette officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Ronald L. Ross, Richard Heron Ross, Michael Phillips, Greg McKinley, Kevin Sanders and David Hadley. Alt: Terry Jones.
Family received friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
