A season full of promise has quickly gone down hill as the Escambia County Blue Devils have fallen to 1-6 overall and 1-4 in their region.
The season hit an all-time low last week as the Blue Devils suffered a 42-6 loss to the Gulf Shores Dolphins.
Friday, the Blue Devils host the Citronelle Wildcats hoping to secure their second win of the season.
Blue Devils Head Coach Kyle Davis said the focus for his team is to forget about all of the losses and win a game.
The Wildcats come to Atmore looking to secure their second consecutive victory over the Blue Devils.
Davis said if his team wants to win it will have to come prepared and wanting to play a tough football game.
In order for the Blue Devils to have a chance against the Wildcats, the offense needs to cut down on turnovers.
Davis said the offense performed well last week, but could not overcome mistakes in order to compete with Gulf Shores. He added a strong performance this week could lead to a victory.
Along with studying the Wildcats on film, the Blue Devil coaching staff is constantly building up their defenses self-esteem after a below-par game last week.
Davis said reminding the guys that last week is in the past is something he and the coaches must do to get their minds off the loss.
The Blue Devils and Wildcats kick off Friday at 7 p.m. at Herbert Barnes Stadium.
