Mrs. Inez Elizabeth Sanders, 79, of Atmore, died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Atmore Community Hospital.
She was a native of Uriah and resident of Atmore for many years. She worked as a social worker in California for many years and was a member of New Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myles Sanders, Jr.; three sisters, Edwina Black, Lillie Mae Weaver and Willie Mae Mett; four brothers, Adolph Marshall, Pete Marshall, John T. Marshall and Jimmie Marshall and her step-mother, Gertrude Marshall.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by three daughters, Irene Odebumi and her husband, Yemi, of Perris, Calif., Bobbie Jean Sanders of Long Beach, Calif. and Brenda Kinnick and her husband, Mikel, of Everett, Wash.; seven sons, Lindsey M. Sanders of Perris, Jimmy Sanders and his wife, Sandy, of Longview, Texas, Lemroy Sanders and Calvin Sanders, both of Atmore, Roosevelt Sanders and Raymond Sanders and his wife, Maria, of Detroit, Mich. and Otis Sanders of Long Beach; four brothers, Will Lee Marshall and his wife, Dot, of Atmore, John Eddie Marshall and his wife, Elizabeth, of Albany, N. Y., Arthur James Marshall and his wife, Lucille, of Pensacola and Clinton Marshall of Trenton, N.J.; 32 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 5 from 1 to 8:30 p.m. at Turner Funeral Chapel. There will be a family hour from 6 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 6 at 2 p.m at New Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Askew officiating.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemtery.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
Turner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
