Lady Devils crush Hillcrest 51-30

A couple of double-doubles from forward Jodeci Craft helped guard Tiffany Madison helped propel the Escambia County Lady Blue Devils to their third win of the season as they cruised to a 51-30 win over the Hillcrest-Evergreen Jaguars Tuesday night in Evergreen.
The Lady Blue Devils (3-2, 0-0) picked up the win as Craft played the game of her life scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, five steals and two blocks. Madison held her own in the contest scoring 10 points, grabbing 10 steals, nine rebounds, six assists and one block.
Lady Blue Devils head coach John Saxon said he was proud of the effort his team gave.
The Lady Devis had the game in hand from the beginning as they jumped ahead 13-9 by the end of the first period.
With a four-point lead heading into the second quarter, the Lady Blue Devils turned on the heat by adding nine more points before the half and allowing only three to the Lady Jaguars.
After halfrime, the Lady Jaguars came out firing on all cylinders and pushed the Lady Devils for supremacy in the third quarter, but only managed to outscore them 10-9, which did not put a dent in the lead.
The final period allowed the Lady Blue Devils to put the nail in the coffin as they destroyed the Lady Jaguars with a 20-8 run.
The Lady Blue Devils victory over the Lady Jaguars proved to be a team win with several contributors.
Aside from the double-doubles by Craft and Madison, forward Brianna Martin scored nien points, stole nine passes, pulled down seven boards, dished out five assists and blocked a shot.
Lady Blue Devil Chanae Lyles added seven points a long with 12 steals, nine rebounds, four assists and one block, while Canausha Crenshaw scored six points, grabbed nine rebounds, five stolen passes, four blocks and two assists.
Marie Peavy scored four points to go with six steals, five rebounds, one block and one assist. Diamond Williams added two points, eight steals and six rebounds.
The Lady Blue Devils next game is Dec. 11 at home against Northview.
