EA Cougars whip Clarke Prep 56-20

Escambia Academy crushed the Clarke Prep Gators 56-20 in Grove Hill Friday night.
The Cougars picked up the win with strong performances from senior guard Michael Hippa and eighth grade forward Nate Smith .
Hippa scored 12 points to go along with five steals, three assists and two rebounds, while Smith posted 11 points with three rebounds, two steals and one assist in the win.
Several Cougars were in on the high-scoring offensive effort with Keaton Maher adding seven points, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks, while Darron McGhee scored six points with two rebounds and one steal.
James White and Jake Wasdin each scored five points. White posted four steals, two rebounds and two assists, while Wasdin added three assists, two steals and two rebounds.
Jarrett Hadley scored four points with one rebound
Other Cougars that recorded stats included Brandon Goddard who scored two points with one rebound, one assist and one steal; Tanner Kirk with two points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal and Tanner Boatwright who scored two points.
The Cougars next game is Thursday at Central Christian. Tipoff is at 4 p.m.

Clarke Prep 10
The Cougars of Canoe junior varsity squad destroyed the Clarke Prep Gators 41-10 Friday night in Grove Hill.
The Cougars were led by Paul Arnold and Jacob dean.
Arnold led the team with 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Dean added 12 points with six rebounds.
Stats for the Cougars’ Monday night game against Meadowview were not made available by The Atmore Advance’s deadline.
