Cougar hopes to play for Auburn

Escambia Academy Cougars sophomore running back Jaylen Henry is a sports fanatic.
Henry started in his first year at the Academy for the Cougars football program and is also on the basketball, baseball and track teams.
Henry said that his favorite sport is football because he loves the contact of it.
Henry helped the Cougars return to prominence on the football field by rushing for close to 1,000 yards.
He provided speed to a backfield that was already stacked with power.
In order, to work towards those 900-plus yards, Henry practiced hard and found motivation in the locker room.
He said in the Cougarsfield house, he and his teammates get motivated by songs.
With such a strong season, Henry found his best performance in a loss.
He said that he felt his running game in Patrician was extremely good in the Cougars’ 30-14 loss, which he had six carries for 144 yards and two touchdowns.
Outside of athletics, Henry finds joy in a certain class that peaks his interest.
He said that he enjoys learning about past events in the world’s history.
Upon his completion of high school, Henry hopes to further his academics and athletics career at his favorite SEC school.
He said he would really like to attend Auburn University.
Outside of school, Henry has several hobbies he enjoys.
His favorite type of music is rap, but he said he does not have a favorite artist or song.
When it comes to movies, Henry said his favorite actor is one of the funniest around.
His favorite memory of his time at EA came just last month.
Henry said making the playoffs is something he will never forget.
