Northview High School’s Miss NHS pageant theme, “Smooth,” was fitting as the annual event went off without a hitch Saturday night.
Freshman Angel Mitchell beat out 29 other contestants as she was crowned Miss NHS 2010 by last year’s winner, Amber Holland, before a packed house. Junior Caitlyn Brown finished as first runner-up and junior Sarah Killam finished second as runner-up.
Pageant Director Anna Barry said the pageant was a huge success.
Barry was also encouraged by the continued support from the community.
According to Barry, the theme from this year's pageant was inspired this summer.
Felicia Settle was named Miss Congeniality, Miranda Burkett won Miss Hospitality, Lauren McCall won the Physical Fitness award and Caroline Prater won the Poise and Appearance award.
