Mrs. Julia Bryant Stanton, 65, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, in Atmore.
She was a native of Escambia County, was raised in Stockton, Ala., and had lived in Monroe County for the past 40 years. She resided in Uriah.
Stanton worked with the Board of Education at Blacksher High School in Uriah. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Uriah and a member of the Symposium Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.F. Stanton Jr.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie Franklin Stanton III of Uriah, and John M. and Lisa Stanton of Evergreen; a daughter, Sherrill and Neil Taylor of Uriah; three brothers, Murray and Pat Bryant Jr. of Stockton, Jimmy Bryant of Millbrook, Ala., and Billy and Judy Bryant of Andalusia; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 31, 2001, 10 a.m., at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donald Barnes and the Rev. Ron McGhee officiating.
Burial was in Uriah Cemetery.
Monroe Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
