The Harlem Ambassadors made a trip through Escambia County Saturday playing games in Atmore. and Brewton.
The Ambassadors played a team of Atmore locals called “The Habitat Hammers” during the night game at Escambia County High School’s gym.
With the game came some amazing feats of athleticism as well as comedic routines and games for children.
Alecia Glaize, executive director for the Escambia County Habitat for Humanity, said the games went well despite low attendance levels.
The purpose for the game was to raise funds as well as awareness that Habitat for Humanity has expanded down to Atmore and the rest of the county.
Glaize said she thinks the game succeeded in letting people know Habitat is around.
The game also gave the Ambassadors an inside look at southern hospitality.
Glaize said that the team was given a basket full of different goodies.
Habitat is planning to make a difference this spring for the first time outside of Brewton.
Glaize said that the first Habitat home ever will be built in Atmore.
