The sharp drop in demand for a last-minute April 15 postmark has prompted a phase-out of special, after-hours retail services and later-than-posted mail collection times in the state of Alabama.
This year all Post Offices in the state will observe regular posted hours for retail operations, as well as the regular collection times listed on wall deposit slots and blue collection boxes.
Those preparing hard-copy tax returns for mailing are urged to take this change into account.
Atmore Post office will maintain regular hours Thursday, 4/15/2010 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Last outside collection pick-up at 4:15 PM.
