Saturday was a special day at Heritage Park as the Barnes Boys met for another reunion to catch up and reminisce about playing for the legendary Escambia County Blue Devils football coach.
Several players and their wives made the trip to Atmore to spend time with friends they have had for the last 60 years.
Dix Darby, who played for Herbert Barnes in the 1946-47 seasons, made the trip from Pensacola to see the rest of the Barnes Boys.
Darby said that everyone looks forward to the reunions.
The reunion is a good time for the former players to think back to their playing days at ECHS.
One thing that sticks in all their minds is their name sake.
Bobby Griffin, who now lives in Valparaiso, Fla., said playing for Barnes was an experience to remember.
