Academy crushes Jaguars

The Escambia Academy Cougars have hit their stride at the right time of the season winning seven of nine heading into their region tournament doubleheader against Edgewood Academy this Friday in Elmore.
The Cougars (12-12) most recently defeated the Central Jaguars winning 7-1 last Friday.
The Cougars were led on the mound by James Dean who pitched a complete game of seven innings to pick up the win.
Dean struck out four Jaguars’ batters, while only walking one.
At the plate, Dean hit 1-for-3.
Offensively, Brandon Goins led the Cougars going 2-for-4 with two RBI in he contest.
Clayton Dyess and Keaton Maher each hit 1-for-3 in the Cougars’ win with Dyess recording an RBI.
Cougar Jarrett Hadley went hitless in the game, but recorded an RBI.

The Cougars of Canoe picked up a huge AISA victory Thursday as they defeated the Sparta Warriors 14-0.
The Cougars were led on the mound by Jarrett Hadley who pitched a one-hitter against the Warriors, which was his second of the season.
Cougars Head Coach Josh Daugett said Hadley was close to a no-hitter.
Hadley pitched a complete game of five innings against the Warriors striking out seven batters, while only walking one.
Hadley also went 1-for-1 in the win with an RBI.
Cougar Keaton Maher led the team in RBI with two, while hitting 1-for-2.
Brandon Goins led the Cougars in hits going 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Ryan Linam and Jon Dean each went 1-for-1 with an RBI in the contest.
Bo Bishop also recorded an RBI going 1-for-1 in the game.
Other Cougars with hits were Braxton Chastang (1-for-1), Hunter Bates (1-for-1) and Michael Thompson (1-for-2).
