Mr. Robert Lee Gibbs Sr., 70, died Tuesday, August 21, 2001, in Brewton.
Gibbs was a native of Atmore and was a retired employee of Monsanto after 32 years. He attended Annie Jones United Methodist Church and was a member of Alabama Farmers Co-Op, Atmore Coffee Clutch, Escambia Grain Board, and Gulf Coast Farm Analysis Association.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Gibbs of Atmore; three sons, Tony Gibbs and his wife, Wanda, of Davisville, Bob Gibbs and his wife, Pam, of Atmore, and Sammy Gibbs of Atmore; his daughter, Cheryl Gibbs of Atmore; a brother, Roy E. Gibbs of Atmore; and five grandchildren, Amanda Gibbs, Scott Gibbs and his wife, Laura, Eric Gibbs, all of Davisville, and Jessica Gibbs and Caroline Gibbs, both of Atmore.
Graveside services were held Thursday, August 23 at 10 a.m. at Canoe Freewill Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. George McClure officiating.
Active pallbearers were Scott Gibbs, Chris Gibbs, Tim Gibbs, Jason Howard, Eric Gibbs, and Rusty Godwin.
Honorary pallbearers were the Atmore Coffee Clutch and Byron Strength.
Eastside Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
