Southern Pine Electric Cooperative is again sponsoring its 14th annual holiday food drive, to make the holidays brighter for those neighbors who are in need.

From now through Dec. 11, each time anyone donates three non-perishable food items, that person will qualify for a drawing for $50. Donors do not have to be a cooperative member to enter the competition. Local citizens who live on other utilities’ lines are eligible to participate, and so are cooperative employees.

On Thursday, Dec. 12, Southern Pine will draw one lucky winner of $50 from entries at each of the cooperative’s offices, as a thank you for helping to collect the needed food.

Donations will be distributed to local food pantries in all four service areas, in time to be distributed to needy families for Christmas 2013.
