Dollie Mae Jefferson Key, 102, of Atmore, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013.

The funeral service will be held at Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church, 122 Carver Ave., in Atmore, at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, with the Rev. Isaac Acquah presiding. Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Home, 78 Harris St., in Atmore. Burial will follow the funeral at Stallworth Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Christian Memorial Funeral Home.

Dollie was born to the late Walter and Josephine Jefferson on Oct. 22, 1911, in Atmore. She accepted Christ at an early age and continued to serve him until the day of her death. She was a strong woman of God and showed his love to all that she met.

Ms. Key is survived by her devoted daughter and caregiver, Delois (Joe) Hazley of Atmore; grandson, Eddie Hazley of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; great-granddaughters, Kameko (Michael) McGuire of Abilene, Texas, Tanasha (Javarus) Walker of Jacksonville, Fla., Jacinda (Perry) Beasley of Avondale, Ariz., and Bridget (Daniel) Hickman of Vacaville, Calif.; and great-great-grandchildren, including Isaiah and Cameron McGuire and Naomi Beasley. She also is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ms. Key is predeceased by both of her parents; four sisters, Louisa Henderson, Elizabeth McMillan, Esterlene Williams and Cleo Coleman; along with three brothers, Henry Jefferson, Daniel Jefferson, and Malachi Jefferson; and great-great-grandson, Perry “Malachi” Beasley III.

The family of the late Dollie Mae Key wishes to thank everyone that showed their love and care during this time of sorrow.
