All Escambia County (Ala.) schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday due to severe winter weather conditions.

After receiving updates and additional Information from the EMA and National Weather Service, school officials announced it is in the best interest to close school on Tuesday and Wednesday, due to the predicted weather conditions.

All athletic and extracurricular activities are canceled as well. School officials advise everyone to stay indoors and stay safe during the severe weather conditions.

School will resume Thursday as normal, as the dangerous weather conditions are expected to pass.

Escambia Academy will also be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
