The Northview Lady Chiefs took first place in the Washington High School preseason softball tournament this past weekend.

Northview defeated Washington on Friday, 16-8, to advance to the championship game. The Lady Chiefs then topped Pensacola, 9-3, to win the tournament.

In Saturday’s win, Penny Banda hit an inside-the-park home run for the victorious Lady Chiefs. Mallory Ryan earned the win on the mound, allowing eight hits while striking out eight and walking two.
