APD officer’s funeral Saturday

Funeral arrangements have been announced for the late Dean Lindberg, 54, who was an officer in the Atmore Police Department.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, located at 1322 S. Main St. in Atmore. The service will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Lindberg will be buried later in the day at Rays Chapel Baptist Church, located at 170 W. Bogia Road, in McDavid, Fla.
Lindberg suffered a stroke on the morning of Sunday, Feb. 23, and never regained consciousness. He died Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the USA Medical Center in Mobile.
He had been employed with the APD as a full-time law enforcement officer since March 2011. Lindberg also served as a school resource officer at Rachel Patterson Elementary School.
