Martez Gilmore Dortch, 82, of Bratt, Fla., passed away Thursday April 24, 2014, in Atmore.

She was a homemaker, born in McDavid, Fla., on Sept. 3, 1931, to the late Fred and Carol Ray Gilmore. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was an accomplished seamstress and active community volunteer for many years and was a member of the Bratt First Baptist Church.

Her husband of 59 years, J.C. Dortch; and siblings, Gerald Gilmore, Lillian Shaw, Roy Gilmore, Glen Gilmore, Louise Green and Johnny Gilmore preceded her in death.

Survivors are her children, June and Roberto Valenzuela of Wheat Ridge, Colo., Randy and Sue Dortch of Bratt, Fla., Billy and JoAnn Dortch of Cantonment, Fla., Mark and Sheila Dortch of Bratt, Fla., Tim and Gabby Dortch of Nokomis, Fla., and Kristie and Steve Gibson of Bratt, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday April 28, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Delbert Redditt and Bro. Tim Hawsey officiating. Interment followed in Godwin Cemetery.

The family received friends Sunday evening, April 27, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until to 8 p.m.
