Linnie Virginia Miller Strickland, born June 11, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away, Wednesday, April 30, 2014.

She was the beloved wife of 53 years of David O. Strickland Sr.; loving mother of Keith D. Strickland and the late David O. Strickland Jr.; mother-in-law of Angelia Strickland; grandmother of Amanda and David A. Strickland; niece of Dorothy Berman and sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.

Linnie was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She spent many hours volunteering in her community and the church she loved. She was a court appointed special advocate for the Juvenile Court. Linnie worked at Vanity Fair and ITT Financial as a supervisor. She was also a volunteer at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch. Her family and friends will continue to celebrate her life.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Grindle officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service time Saturday, May 10, from the Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
