The offense of the Atmore Lions Club Cardinals proved too tough to tame Thursday night as the Cardinals defeated the Atmore Rotary Club Tigers 14-8 in Cal Ripken Major League action.

With a 3-2 lead heading into the top of the second, the Cardinals pounded the baseball scoring seven runs with Danny Crenshaw, Jabrice Hooks, Dee Dee Poole, Devante Dailey, Devon Robinson, Randy Johnson and Fred Flavors crossing the plate.

After holding the Tigers scoreless in the bottom of the second, the Cardinals extended their lead scoring three more runs with Dailey, Robinson and Brandon Cummings making the trip around the basepath.

The Tigers pushed to cut the lead in the bottom of the inning with Jimmy Overstreet and Orenthal Magee scoring runs making the score 13-4.

One run was all the Cardinals could muster in the fourth as Flavors scored his second run of the game.

The Tigers finally heated up scoring four runs with Tyler Wilson, Maleek Salter, Reggie Tolbert and Magee crossing homeplate.

The attempted comeback was shortlived though with the Cardinals getting out the final two batters to end the game with a 14-8 win.

Athletics 20

Braves 4

A 20-run burst was more than enough to help the First National Bank & Trust Athletics earn a win over the Poarch Creek Indians in Cal Ripken Major League action Tuesday night at Tom Byrne Park.

The Athletics opened the game with strong bats as they recorded four hits that helped get Ryan Johnson, Nytorioius Cooler, Tristan Agerton, Bradley Geck and Ladarrian Johnson across the plate for an early 5-0 lead.

The Braves answered with one run in the bottom of the first as Antonio Wall scored to cut the Athletics lead to four.

The Athletics continued their domination in the second inning as they built their lead to 10-1 with Johnson, Cooler, Eric Williams, Agerton and Geck scoring runs.

The Braves could not slow down the Athletics in the third inning as they allowed Dakota Boatwright, Eric McCaskil, Cooler and Williams to cross the plate pushing the score to 14-1.

Josh Booker and Thunder Jackson were able to get some runs on the board in the bottom of the third as they helped their team cut the A’s lead to 11.

The Athletics would push the game out of reach in the top of the fourth as they scored six more runs to push the score to 20-3 as Johnson, Jamaya Frye, Boatwright, Johnson, Cooler and Williams scored.

With too much of lead to overcome, the Braves could only score one more run as Hunter Nobles put the fourth run on the board ending the game 20-4 in favor of the Athletics.

Warriors 9

Arrows 3

Billy Powell led the United Bank Warriors with three runs scored as the Warriors slammed the Poarch Creek Indians Arrows 9-3 Tuesday night in Cal Ripken Major League action.

The Warriors and Arrows battled early as they each scored one run in the first inning, but the Warriors took the lead in the second inning never looking back.

In the third inning, the Warriors scored four runs to go on top 7-1 with Jackson Breckenridge, Powell, Arri Torrez, Steven Wilson and Tadd Wall Huskey all scoring.

Two runs in the top of the fourth put the game out of reach as Powell and Torrez both scored to put the Warriors 9-1.

The Arrows were able to add two runs before the game ended as Corey Bailey and Trey Lee scored.
