This week will be a special time at the Greater Escambia Council for the Arts (GECA) theater, as more than 100 citizens come together to present the beloved musical, Oliver!

These performers and stage crew range in age from 5 to 83, and have spent countless hours rehearsing and working. It is especially impressive because so many young people are in this performance. In a world of video games and television, it is wonderful that our kids are willing to sacrifice the time and effort to the dramatic arts.

There are four shows this week — Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Let’s give these folks a full house every night. Break a leg!
