White Sox defeat Cards

Chase Bell led the State Farm White Sox with three runs Monday night as the White Sox defeated the Atmore Vision Center Cardinals 10-6 in Cal Ripken Minor League action.

After holding the Cardinals scoreless in the top of the first, the White Sox opened the bottom of the first with three runs as Bell, Jackson Bonner and Kameron Bowen all scored.

The Cardinals tied the game in the top of the third as Nathan Ragan and Cortez Martin scored runs.

Five runs in the bottom of the third helped the White Sox grab the lead again as Skyler Hursh, Bell, Bonner, Bowen and Branden Gulsby all made it around the basepath to put their team up 7-3.

The Cardinals scored a run in the top of the fourth and two in the top of the fifth to pull within one run of the White Sox as Calvin Stotts, Ragan and Jaden Shavers all scored. The White Sox put the game away in the bottom of the fifth with Bell and Hursh scoring to put their team up 10-6.

The Atmore VFW Rangers defeated the Poarch Creek Indians Warriors 6-2 Monday night in a battle of Cal Ripken Minor League teams.

The Rangers grabbed the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the third when Saviour Kilpatrick scored.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Rangers extended their lead to four runs as Josh Hadley, Austin Walker and Caleb Gregson all scored.

Tristan Kilpatrick put the game away when he scored in the bottom of the fifth.
