Escambia County High School will celebrate its homecoming next week, with a variety of events and activities planned, leading up to the Friday, Oct. 3, game.
This year’s theme is “Jam the Rams,” as the team is playing the Faith Academy Rams.
The “Jam the Rams” homecoming parade will be Friday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. The route will be from the Atmore Area YMCA on South Pensacola Avenue to the ECHS campus. Those who are interested in participating in the parade should call Andrea Chance at (251) 368-9181.
Also, earlier that day there will be an “Alumni Tea” in the ECHS media center. The Student Government Association is inviting all graduated classes that ended in a “4” to join for the tea at 9:30 a.m. Refreshments will be served. The alumni are invited to stay for the homecoming pep rally, which will be immediately after the tea from approximately 11:15 a.m. to noon.
At 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, the Blue Devils will host Faith Academy at Herbert Barnes Stadium. During halftime, the ECHS homecoming court will be introduced and the 2014 homecoming queens will be crowned.
A dance will be held in the gymnasium after the game, for current ECHS students only.
There are also a variety of themed days during the homecoming week for ECHS students:
• Monday — Pajamas Day.
• Tuesday — Nerd Day.
• Wednesday — Flashback Day to 60s, 70s, or 80s.
• Thursday — “Jam on the Rams” and wear all black for Black Out Day.
• Friday — Spirit Day, wear the 2014 homecoming shirt.
