James ‘Douglas’ Emmons

James “Douglas” Emmons, 61, of Atmore, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at his residence.

He was a sheet rock installer, born in Escambia County, on Oct. 14, 1953, to the late James Oliver and Helen Pauline Dunn Emmons.

Survivors are his children, Jamie Emmons, Kelly (Gilbert) Asiong, Keith (Ginger) Emmons, Kevin (Ashley) Emmons, Chad Emmons, Haley Emmons and Brandy Emmons; two sisters, Jeanette Johnson and Peggy (Ronnie Lambert); 14 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and very special friends, Becky and Doug Rolin.

Services were held Saturday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Thuel Pearson officiating. Interment followed in McCullough Cemetery. The family received family and friends Friday, Oct. 17, at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Active pallbearers were Allen Walls, Tommy Morrow, Anthony Rolin, Rodney Johnson, James Taylor and J.W. Timothy.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of all arrangements.
