A Repton man was arrested Monday for vehicle burglaries at Flomaton High School last week.
Flomaton Police Chief Bryan Davis asked for the public’s help in search of the man who allegedly burglarized at least two vehicles on Wed., Jan. 7, in the school parking lot.

Davis identified the suspect as 32-year-old Michael Paul Baggett. Baggett was taken into custody at his U.S. Hwy. 84 home in Conecuh County by officers with the Repton and Flomaton police departments.

“Baggett was identified by approximately 10 different callers who phoned into the Flomaton Police Department after the press release was sent to the media Friday,” Davis said. “I really have to give credit to the media for getting the suspect information and the suspect’s vehicle information out to the public and credit to the public for calling in and alerting police.

“I am thankful for the citizens that continue to stand up against crime,” he said.

Davis said police are still searching for a LIT cooler — a model similar to the popular YETI brand — and for anyone who may have purchased a pair of Costa sunglasses or a brand name cooler from Baggett.

“If you have, please contact the Flomaton Police Department or your local police department,” Davis said.

Baggett is charged with two counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and two counts of third-degree theft of property.

Assisting Flomaton with the investigation was the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department (School Resource Division), the Conecuh County Sheriff’s Department and Repton Police Department.
