The city of Atmore will install a four-way stop sign at the intersection of Sowell Avenue and Perch Street.
The city council unanimously voted for the change, during Monday’s meeting of the Atmore City Council. The intersection had previously been a two-way stop, with cross traffic moving freely.

Atmore Mayor Jim Staff said several residents were concerned about speeding through the neighborhood.
In other business during Monday’s short meeting, the council approved accounts payable and minutes from the April 27 meeting.

The city council’s next meeting will be Tuesday, May 26, at 4 p.m. It has been moved because Monday is Memorial Day.
