Mr. William Roosevelt Stots, 83, of Atmore, answered the Master’s call peacefully on July 9, 2015, at Atmore Commnity Hospital.

He was a native of Repton and a longtime resident of Atmore. After relocating to Atmore, he began working in the maintenance department at Chemstrand (which later was named Monsanto and now is Solutia) Chemical Plant in Pensacola. He also worked part-time cleaning downtown businesses in Atmore, where he was fondly called the “Milk Man.” He became a faithful member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church and later was ordained as a Deacon, where he served until his health failed. In his leisure, he was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Stots was preceded in death by his mother and all 12 of his siblings.

Those left to cherish his love and life memories are his wife of 29 years, Mary Pearl Stots of Atmore; his children, Timothy (Chrystal) Stots, Albert Stots, Willie Lee Stots, David (Jacqueline) Stot and William Stots; his step-children, Mickey Brown, Joann Bailem, Doris Johnson, Bishop Willie L. Williams, Elizabeth (Lloyd) Rivers, Edna (David) Humphrey, Sarah (Fred) Flavors, Calvin (Cynthia) Stots, Lemon (Debra) Freeman, Marion English, James Johnson, Reggie (Ellen) Johnson, Alvin Johnson, Patricia Johnson, and Gregory Johnson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday, July 17, at 11 a.m. at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Isaac Bradley, pastor, officiating. Retirement of his remains will lie in Stallworth Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. His body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC, directing.
