Free supplies, backpacks will be given away

The Escambia Baptist Association of Churches will be providing free backpacks with selected school supplies for any elementary school students.
These backpacks will be distributed until they are gone. All backpacks will be handed out only on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The pick-up locations are: Brooks Memorial Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Atmore; First Baptist Church and Liberty Baptist Church in Brewton; First Baptist Church in East Brewton; and Community Baptist Church, First Baptist Church and Little Escambia Baptist Church in Flomaton.
Brooks Memorial Baptist Church is located at 904 McRae St., and Calvary Baptist Church is located at 2121 Jack Springs Road.
“We recognize that for many families, purchasing school supplies is a tremendous financial burden,” said Wendell Ray, director of missions for the Escambia Baptist Association. “Our goal is to provide 800 backpacks filled with supplies to children in our local communities.”
The name of this year’s campaign is “Supplying Students for Success.” There are 35 churches in the Escambia Baptist Association.
