The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit executed a drug sweep at Escambia County High School and marijuana was found inside of a student’s vehicle, school officials said Wednesday.
ECHS Principal Dennis Fuqua said there was only one student affected by the confiscation of the drugs.
“They found some marijuana inside the student’s vehicle,” Fuqua said. “There was nothing inside of the school.”
The student, whose name wasn’t released because he or she is a juvenile, will be turned over to the juvenile authorities and transported to a juvenile facility in Bay Minette, Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said.
