Athletics defeat Tigers 5-4 in Majors

A game changing three-run homerun helped open the door for the First National Bank & Trust Athletics as they defeated the Atmore Rotary Club Tigers 5-4 in Cal Ripken Major League action at Tom Byrne Park Monday night.
Athletics player Nytorious Cooler hit a dinger to help his team take the lead 3-2 after they trailed to the Tigers early on.
The Tigers struck first in the top of the first inning as Maleek Salter reached base on an error and later scored on a single by Ethan Patascil.
After holding the Athletics scoreless in the bottom of the inning, the Tigers extended their lead to two runs with Noah Brooks scoring.
The Athletics finally stopped the Tigers from scoring in the top of the third, which opened the door for their huge third inning.
Ladarrion Johnson and Fred Flavors opened the bottom of the third by getting on base setting up Cooler’s homerun to help give the A’s their first lead.
Following Cooler, Eric Williams made his way around the basepath to put the Athletics on top 4-2.
The Tigers would not go down lightly as they tied the game at four with Christian Thorpe and Ben Hubert scoring runs.
With the game tied at four going into the final inning, the Athletics made the most of their time at the plate as they were able to pick up the win on Bradley Geck’s game winning run.
