A Loxley man was killed in a two-vehicle wreck early this morning one mile outside Atmore on Highway 31, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Trooper Jamie Maloy.

Maloy said Randell Luther Brooks, 45, of Loxley, was killed when the 2002 Ford Escape he was driving collided with a 1995 GMC Sierra that was driven by Wesley Garland Erickson, 35, of Atmore, at 5:44 a.m.

“The crash occurred on U.S. 31 at the 44.2 mile marker, approximately one mile north of Atmore,” Maloy said. “Brooks, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Erickson was transported to Atmore Community Hospital for medical treatment.”
