Last year it had 138 pages and was published in two issues to give our readers more time to enjoy the feature stories, photos and advertising.
It was the culmination of four months of hard work and a lot of late night and early morning hours.
I'm talking about our annual Horizons edition. This special edition is our largest issue of the year and it features stories, photos, artwork and more. We consider Horizons a celebration of our community.
Horizons 2000 promises to bring our readers a special look at the people, places, events, businesses, schools and organizations that make-up our community.
Last year was my first time working through a Horizons edition. Our staff worked harder and longer than any other time of year.
Until you work through the process, it is hard to appreciate the work that goes into a Horizons edition.
Our goal last year was to give our readers something unlike anything they had ever seen before.
I like to think we met that goal. This year we hope to improve upon last year's edition.
We hope the stories in Horizons will make you laugh or cry. We hope you learn something about our community you didn't know before. But most of all, we hope you see our community reflected in the pages of Horizons 2000.
