Officials with Baumhower’s Restaurant said the eatery at Wind Creek Casino will open before the end of the year.

“We’re getting ready to open a brand new Baumhower’s,” Restaurant Owner Bob Baumhower said recently. “Hopefully, it’ll be mid-to-late December or before the end of this year.”

Baumhower’s, which is moving into the former Overtime bar and grill restaurant at the casino, will be offering SEC and pro sports games on more than 40 big screen TVs, along with their signature food, cold draft beverages and full bar service. At present, the big-screen TVs have been erected in the space, which is still offering bar service to customers.

Some of the offerings that Baumhower’s will give to Atmore and area folks include Spencer’s Gooey Fries, chicken wings, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Mushroom Gravy, Nana’s Chicken Salad-Salad, Char-Grilled Caribbean Fish Salad, Fish Po’Boys and a broad selection of burgers, to name a few. In addition, the restaurant will serve a wide selection of beers on tap.

The new restaurant will feature hand crafted, made from scratch New York style pizza, Baumhower said, adding that the pizza is a new addition to the regular menu slate.

“We’re excited about that,” he said.

“We are impressed by the determination to win and the great quality found at Baumhower’s,” WCA Property Manager Tim Ramer said. “This partnership will allow us to do what we do really well and them to do what they do really well.”

Baumhower , who was a former University of Alabama defensive lineman and Miami Dolphins nose tackle, founded Baumhower’s.

The announcement that the Loxley-based restaurant chain was coming to Atmore took place in September.

The restaurant chain operates locations throughout Alabama from Huntsville to Daphne.

A restaurant crew has already been put in place as the chain held a job seminar early last month.
