Escambia County’s Lady Blue Devils ended their season last Thursday at the Class 5A South Regional Tournament in Gulf Shores.
ECHS fell 13-0 to top-ranked Rehobeth in the first game, beat B.C. Rain 16-4 in the second game and lost 15-0 to Eufaula in the third.
The Lady Blue Devils played with one senior, and Head Coach Brian McGuire said he was proud of the effort the girls gave.
“They played hard,” McGuire said. “They were very coachable. They listened to what they were told. In a coach’s mind, that’s part of the process — that we’re going to continue to work on and build so we can be hopefully playing for a state championship one day.”
ECHS ended its season 7-16.
