Alabama Operation Lifesaver (ALOL) is celebrating its 40th anniversary in Atmore.
ALOL has been working to educate communities, drivers and students about being safe at grade crossings and near railroad tracks to prevent incidents and to save lives, according to a press release.
The organization will be taking its message on the road to local communities with a 40-city Rail Safety Tour to help increase public awareness.
Atmore was selected as one of 40 cities in the state, and will coordinate a free public safety awareness activity.
Operation lifesaver will be in Atmore on Mon., July 25, throughout the day.
