Escambia Academy’s boys’ basketball team finished 2-0 in a Christmas tournament on Dec. 17.
The Cougars beat Morgan Academy 71-59, and then topped Central Christian in the nightcap 71-46.
In girls’ action, the Lady Cougars fell 51-43 to MA, but came back in a big way to beat CCA 42-15.
EA boys coach James Lee said the boys did well and got back to what they were capable of doing well.
“Our press didn’t work like we wanted it to do,” he said. “We’ll work on it.”
The Cougars practiced Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
Lee said there’s a likely possibility that the boys will practice prior to New Year’s as they play Sparta on Dec. 29.
