Escambia Academy’s Fred Flavors, Trae Lee and Louie Turner have made the 2016 Alabama Sports Writers Association’s All-State team.

Flavors, at defensive back; Lee, on the defensive line; and Turner, as an athlete, were selected to the first team. Kris Brown made the second team as a defensive back.

For the season, Flavors had 58 tackles, eight interceptions, five pass break ups and averaged 23 yards on kick returns. He rushed for 550 yards on offense and scored six touchdowns. Additionally, he was also a leading receiver with 400 yards.

Lee had 67 tackles, nine sacks, nine tackles for a loss, four caused fumbles, four fumbled recovers and also started as an offensive tackle and had 25 pancake blocks. He is committed to Navy.

Turner, who was featured as a linebacker and running back for EA, accumulated 97 tackles, eight sacks, two interceptions, rushed for 1,235 yards and had 345 yards receiving. He also scored 22 touchdowns.

Brown rushed for 845 yards on 90 carries and scored 15 touchdowns on offense. He added 70 tackles on defense, as well as five interceptions. He returned on INT for 83 yards for a score in the playoffs.

Kainoa Gumapac was selected as an honorable mention as a kicker.
