Fire in sky more beautiful over water

There’s something about the sunset backdrop over a body of water.

Over the weekend, I made the decision to go home.

On Saturday night, shortly after arriving in Fairhope, my mom, dad and I went for a walk.

Making our way toward the pier and Mobile Bay, we gazed at the different, yet similar, architecture of houses in our neighborhood.

Some houses have prominent columns, some have big porches and some were in the process of being built.

As we made our way down at a rather quick pace, I could tell we were nearing our goal as the colors in the sky started to change.

Pretty soon, dark pinks, oranges, reds and purples replaced the familiar blue.

While we missed the actual sunset, which was fine, we caught the aftermath.

It literally looked like a bright wall of fire set against the water. My mom noticed the light dancing off of the water.

I cursed myself because I didn’t bring my camera. I’m sure you can imagine what the view was like.

With added element of water, the view was something.
