Payne pains Baker, helps lift NHS to 15-3 district win

Northview’s Zach Payne went 3-for-4 with five RBIs to help lead the Chiefs to a 15-3 district win over Baker, Fla. tonight at home.
Payne finished his batting mallee in the bottom of the fourth with a three-run triple to make it 14-3.
The Chiefs went out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, bounced back after the Gators tacked on three runs in the top of the second with four additional runs in the same frame to go up 8-3.
NHS added one run in the third and six in the fourth in the win.
Seth Killam also had a good night for the Chiefs with three hits. Bailey Wilson had two hits.
The Chiefs (6-6, 2-2 in Class 1A, District 3) play next at home on Mon., March 27, at Escambia, Fla., after spring break.
