The Atmore Rotary Club recognized 132 Academic All-Stars at its 32nd annual Academic All-Star program on May 11 at First Baptist Church.
Academic All-Stars are students from Atmore Christian School, Escambia Academy, Escambia County High School and Northview High School who have maintained an A or B average in each subject for each grading period of the school year, with at least one A for each grading period. For the title of Four-year Academic All-Star, these seniors must have maintained this status from the ninth through the 12th grades. Each student received a scholarship based on the number of years as an All-Star.
Those who are four-year All-Stars receive a $750 scholarship. Three-year All-Stars receive $350; two-year All-Stars receive $250; and one-year All-Stars receive $150.
ECHS students Jade Adams and Ziyah Young received the Randolph B. Luttrell Sr. and William and Mary Grissett Memorial Scholarships, respectively. Each scholarship was for $2,000.
This year’s four-year Academic All-Stars included: Eli Godwin, Bailey Lancaster and Abby Smith, all of EA; Adams, Chillé Ford, Tyranie Henderson, Derik Kidd, Justin Pearson and Ariel Whatley, all of ECHS; and Alyssa Borelli, Emily Heard, Brandon Korinchak, Mitchell Singleton, Brianna Smith, David Weber and Hadley Woodfin, all of NHS.
